Congress president, Sonia Gandhi on Saturday hinted that the promotion of Rahul Gandhi as the party chief could be done “soon”. “Soon it will be done,” she said after repeatedly being asked by the reporters.
Presently, Gandhi is the vice-president of the party and will be elevated to the president.
The Congress organisational polls are ongoing and many state units have already approved resolutions urging Gandhi to take over as the party reins.
As per the sources in the party, Rahul could can take over as the party chief from her mother after Diwali.
