Rajasthan: Sachin Pilot finally wears the Turban

Sachin Pilot who became the fifth Deputy Chief Minister of the state of Rajasthan wore the Turban after Congress defeated the then party in power, BJP in the Rajasthan Assembly Elections that took place on 7 December.

In 2014, Pilot had pledged of not wearing the traditional turban till the Congress party comes to power in the state of Rajasthan.

A few days before the elections, Pilot had exuded the confidence of winning the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly Elections and had said that he will don the Turban once the party tastes success.

In Rajasthan, the selection for the post of CM went down to the wire, Ashok Gehlot was chosen as the Chief Minister for his third stint in office. Whereas, Pilot was selected to be his Deputy.

The Congress prevailed victory in 99 out of the 199 seats that went in for elections in Rajasthan, ousting the ruling Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government.
