Rajasthan SOG Cracks Forest Guard Recruitment: In a major development in Rajasthan’s ongoing war on recruitment exam cheating, a serving forest guard has been held by the Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG). She was arrested on suspicion of having landed the government job through the use of a dummy candidate in the Forest Guard Recruitment Examination held in 2022.
The arrested accused has been identified as Pramila (29) and a resident of Jalore district, the Rajasthan Police SOG informed in an update on Friday. She has been accused of hiring another candidate to appear in the examination held for recruitment in the Forest Department by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB).
The examination was conducted on November 13, 2022, in Kankroli in Rajsamand district. After clearing the examination on the basis of the dummy candidate’s result, she had obtained the appointment as a forest guard in Reodar of Sirohi district.

The SOG said it had registered a case in November 2025 under which it was investigating various suspicious appointments of candidates selected for Forest Guard recruitment. According to ADG SOG, Vishal Bansal, the agency collected evidence that another person was made to appear in place of the accused, Pramila, in the written examination in the recruitment for Forest Guard post.
“Accordingly, SOG arrested Pramila and it is trying to ascertain whether there was any organised racket behind this,” Bansal told reporters.
It is also understood that the arrested forest guard had allegedly used a dummy candidate in REET-2021 as well. The police reportedly caught her and the fake candidate together before the exam. Accordingly, the police had registered a criminal case at the Sindhi Camp police station in Jaipur. The arrested accused, however, had allegedly not disclosed this FIR during the police verification for her government job and successfully procured verification without it, and joined duty as a forest guard.
Police officials said further investigations are ongoing in connection with the recruitment to find out. They are looking if more facilitators and middlemen were involved in the recruitment irregularities. The search of relevant files of the Forest Guard recruitment to ascertain any possible manipulations is still going on. The SOG is also not ruling out making further arrests in connection with the matter.
