Renowned sculptor Padma Shri Arjun Prajapati succumbs to coronavirus

Renowned Rajasthan sculptor Arjun Prajapati has passed away due to the novel coronavirus on Thursday. He was conferred with the Padma Shri Award in the year 2010 for his contributions to art.

He had coined the statue of noted personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Jagjit Singh, Lata Mangeshkar, Indira Gandhi, Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Sachin Tendulkar.

The state Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) president, Staish Punia paid tribute to the artist. Taking it to Twitter, Punia wrote, “My deepest condolences to the family members of Shri Arjun Prajapati Ji, who was among the popular sculptors of the country and honoured with Padma Shri. In humility, Arjun Ji had no second and he has enhanced the splendor of Rajasthan by bringing Matikala to the global table. ”
