Chaos ensued at an event presided over by Home Minister Amit Shah and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to mark the International Yoga Day in Rohtak on Friday, June 21 as people began fighting over yoga mats just after the programme ended.
Thousands of yoga mats had been laid down for the participants, following the event participants got into a fight over mats as they rushed to take them home. Though officials tried to gather all the mats, many participants managed to successfully leave the event with yoga mats.
“We are taking the mats with us. We want to do yoga when we get home,” an elder participant said.
Speaking at the event, Amit Shah said, Yoga is showing the world the way towards a healthy life.
“I want to humbly tell those pointing fingers that today, on this occasion, in 200 nations crores of people who are doing yoga will help inspire millions of children, who will take a pledge to connect yoga with their lives,” Shah said.
