In a major political development on Friday, the General Secretary of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Tariq Anwar resigned from the party over internal disputes with NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Soon after the statement of former Union Minister Sharad Pawar over defending PM Modi on Rafale issue.
Tariq Anwar, MP from Katihar in Bihar, said: “I did not like Sharad Pawar’s comment over Rafale issue and even, Pawar did not clarify the whole stand of himself on the matter, following which, I resigned”.
Sharad Pawar on Thursday supported PM Modi over Rafale issue and gave a clean chit to the government and further clarified that “Nothing has been said from the party on the Rafale issue”. Utilizing the Sharad Pawar’s statement Amit Shah took to Twitter to thank Sharad Pawar over his support, which irked several giant politicians including Tariq Anwar.
Tariq Anwar is the founding member of the NCP. In 1999, he left the Congress party with Sharad Pawar and formed NCP. The late PA Sangma, Sharad Pawar and Tariq Anwar had resigned from the Congress while raising the issue of Sonia Gandhi’s foreign origin
As per the sources, Tariq Anwar’s resignation is a big blow to NCP and he may once again hold the hands of the Congress.
