Bhopal: Amid speculations of cabinet expansion of Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s government in Madhya Pradesh, the names of probable candidates are highly awaited. The ministerial candidates have begun meeting the various leaders in the capital.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will hold a meeting with the top leaders to discuss cabinet expansion. It is speculated that the names of candidates will be finalised in this meeting and the chief minister will expand the cabinet this month itself.

Amidst this, Shivraj Singh Chauhan may also have a meeting with BJP state president V D Sharma and Suhas Bhagat for cabinet expansion. It is believed that after finalising the list of candidates in this meeting, the information will be sent to the national president of BJP, J P Nadda. 6-8 seats in the cabinet may be left empty which can be filled later after the by-polls.

The preparation of the cabinet expansion of Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s government is in its last leg.

The necessary discussions for the candidates of ministerial positions will be completed today by the chief minister. He may also visit New Delhi before finalising the date of the oath-taking ceremony as the decision for the same will taken under the centre’s guidance. He may reach Delhi by 25th or 26th May. Post his visit, he may expand the cabinet on 31st May.

BJP state-in-charge Vinay Sahasrabuddhe had made it clear last week that the cabinet expansion will be done at the right time. He said, “The cabinet expansion is taking time since the government is busy tackling the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. It will be done at the right time.”

Shivraj Singh Chauhan took oath as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh amid the Covid-19 crisis and formed a mini-cabinet after 29 days. Five ministers were accommodated in the mini cabinet of which two are from the Scindia camp.
