According to various reports, the music streaming giant, Spotify, has shaken hands with some major stakeholders in the South Asian country of India. The Swedish based company has over 190 million users worldwide with a revenue that sours in late $4 billion. Spotify looks set to enter India in the next 6 months.
Reportedly, Spotify will offer a trial period longer than the standard 30 days. The plan would include a full access to the app.
India is rather a difficult challenge for any music app. Instead of looking for the song via the artist’s name, people here search with the names of movie characters.
The company with an Alexa rank of 123 will have to lock horns with current leaders in the segment such as Gaana, Google Play Music and Saavn.
