Various leaders played their part in giving the country independence that it enjoys today. One such patriot was Subhas Chandra Bose, though he did not remain alive to see the free India, the role he played is seen key down the years.

Netaji was born in Cuttack, now the second largest city in Odisha. He was born to Prabhavati Dutti Bose and Janakinath Bose, with the latter being an advocate.
He did his schooling from Protestant European School and later at Ravenshaw Collegiate School. He shortly studied at Presidency College. Following this, Bose joined Scottish Church College at University of Calcutta and left to Britain to appear for the Indian Civil Services Exam.
When he turned 23, he cleared the tough and prestigious Indian Civil Services exam. He not only cleared it but ended up coming 4th! Soon after joining, Bose submitted his resignation as he did not want to work for British.
Took charge of the Bengal Provincial Congress Committee. He also worked as an editor as another newspaper, Forward, founded by his mentor Chittaranjan Das. Netaji married to Emilie Schenkl in 1937, they have a daughter, Anita Bose Pfaff who is now a German economist.
Subhas Chandra Bose’ death even after 74 years remains a mystery. According to expert opinions, Bose’ death took place in an overloaded Japanese plane crash on 18 August 1945.
