The Delhi high court on Thursday ordered the Delhi police to submit a report on the status of investigations in the Sunanda Pushkar death case within three days.

The court ordered that the report should also be submitted to the petitioner, BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy.

Swamy said that the Delhi HC has scheduled a hearing in the case for 1st August.

On 6 July, Swamy had filed a Public Interest Litigation(PIL) in the Delhi high court, seeking a court-monitored inquiry into Sunanda’s death.

The court was hearing a plea filed by Swamy seeking a CBI-led investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Sunanda, wife of Congress leader, Shashi Tharoor.

Sunanda was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the suite of a five-star hotel in South Delhi on the night of 17 January 2014.
