The Traitors 2 Ansh Chopra and Parul Gulati: The Traitors Season 2 has ended, but the debate around the show hasn’t ended yet. A new controversy started after claims were made that Parul Gulati may have received secret game information through her production-assigned “shadow”.
The allegation was first pushed into the spotlight by Shahneel Gill. She claimed that a contestant’s shadow was allegedly paid to pass information about the Traitors. Parul has denied the claims and called the controversy a “digital witch-hunt”.
The issue became more talked about because Parul had correctly suspected Traitors Harman Singha and Krystle D’Souza during the season. Other contestants also discussed the allegations online.

Former contestant Ansh Chopra has now spoken about the controversy in an exclusive conversation with The Free Press Journal.
Ansh made it clear that he didn’t personally know whether anything like this had happened. But he said his own experience inside the show made the allegation difficult for him to believe.
“Honestly, I don’t know anything about that. We were all given shadows. My shadow would only ask me what I wanted to eat or what clothes I wanted to wear the next day. He would get my clothes pressed and keep them ready. That’s it,” Ansh told FPJ.
According to Ansh, contestants had very little contact with the production staff. Phones weren’t allowed and the players were kept away from the outside world during filming.
“I don’t think something like this would have happened because everything there was very strict. You couldn’t use mobile phones and you would hardly even see people from production,” he said.
Ansh also explained that even when contestants saw production members, they couldn’t freely talk to them. “If you spoke to them, they would just stand there like a wall. They couldn’t answer you back. Basically, the game never lets you go outside the game. It keeps you completely inside it,” he explained.
The former contestant said the living setup also made outside communication very difficult. The cast members stayed in different parts of a huge palace and their rooms were far away from each other.
“They had booked such a huge palace. One person’s room would be in one corner and another person’s somewhere else. There were so many floors. Our windows were completely covered. You didn’t know what time it was. There was no television, nothing. You could literally talk to the walls,” Ansh recalled.

He added that security was also present outside the rooms, making it difficult for contestants to leave on their own. “There was a bodyguard sitting outside the room. You couldn’t even go outside,” he said.
The allegations against Parul remain claims and haven’t been established as fact. Shahneel had alleged that a shadow may have leaked information to a contestant. Krystle D’Souza and others later backed the discussion.
Parul rejected the accusations and described the online backlash as a “digital witch-hunt”. The show’s makers haven’t publicly confirmed that any contestant received secret information through a shadow.
Ansh hasn’t directly cleared Parul of the allegations either. His point is based on what he personally experienced during filming. From his account, the strict rules, security and limited contact with production members would’ve made such a leak very difficult.
