The special investigation police team has arrested three RSS cadres in connection with the murder of a madrasa teacher, Mohammed Riyaz Moulavi, in Kasargod in Kerala.

Ajesh aka Appu,Akhil and Nithin, the three suspects, will be produced before the court on Friday.

Kannur Crime Branch superintendent of police A Srinivas, who is heading the team, said Ajesh committed the murder by illegally barging into Moulavi’s room and attacking him with a wedge- shaped weapon.

Police suggest the possibility of a hate crime.

Riyas Moulavi, a native of Kodagu and teacher of Issathul Islam madrassa, was murdered in the wee hours of Tuesday.

A gang barged into the compound of Muhayuddin Juma Masjid, Choori, and slit his throat in his room.
