Timex Launches 3 New Automatic E Line Watches: Timex has expanded its Automatic E Line lineup with three brand new 38mm watches, bringing that retro-inspired rounded-square “TV Dial” vibe to a bigger case size. These newest pieces still keep the vintage character fans liked in the original E Line but now they also include a mechanical Miyota 8215 automatic movement plus an exhibition caseback.
Right now, the new models are showing up on Timex’s US and UK websites, and the prices start at $379. So if you were already into the older 34mm E Line, this launch gives you another choice with a bit more wrist presence and a more solid feel overall.
The biggest change is the 38mm case size. Earlier Automatic E Line models measured 34mm, while the new versions increase the diameter without abandoning the collection’s signature rounded-square profile.
The design takes inspiration from the original 1983 Timex E Line, whose case was known as the “TV Dial.” Timex describes the shape as a classic dress-watch design that has been modernised for its current collection.

All three watches use the Miyota 8215 Japanese automatic movement. The movement is self-winding, meaning it uses the wearer’s wrist movement to power the watch rather than relying on a conventional battery.
Timex’s existing Automatic E Line models also use the Miyota 8215, which has 21 jewels and can store up to approximately 40 hours of power reserve.
Another notable feature of the new watches is their exhibition caseback. Instead of a solid rear case, the transparent section allows owners to see the automatic movement working underneath.
