TSBIE Results 2019: 20 Telangana students died by suicide after failing class XII exam, KCR reprimands education minister & officials

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has reportedly reprimanded the education minister of the state after as many 20 students died by suicide allegedly for failing in the Class XII examination.

The state Chief Minister called for an emergency meeting in which he directed officials to hold free revaluation and recounting for students who failed the exams. The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) declared results on April 18.

Currently, a student needs to pay Rs 600 for revaluation and recounting. Rao also asked officials to carry out supplementary examinations so that students don’t suffer a year loss.

KCR appealed students who could not clear the paper to no take the extreme step, he said, “Intermediate education is not the entire life. Failing in examination does not amount to failing in life. Life is precious.”

Nearly 10 lakh students appeared for the examination this year, out of these, a nearly one-third, 3.28 lakh failed.
