Unidentified men loot family, rape women on Yamuna Expressway

In a tragic incident, unidentified miscreants looted a family travelling on the Jewar-Bulandshahr highway in Greater Noida on Wednesday night. The family was travelling from Jewar to Bulandshahr in an Eco sports car at around 1:30 am when a group of six men stopped their car and shot the driver. He died on the spot.

According to sources, the criminals held the family of four men and four women and molested the women. A rape attempt was also made. The confirmation of the rape is yet to be ascertained.

The police said that the men punctured two of the tyres of the car. As per sources, the driver called the car owner after the car got punctured, who thereafter called the police control number. Unfortunately, the police could not reach the spot on time.

The Yamuna Expressway stretches 165 kms, and connects international tourist destinations of Delhi and Agra. The area covers approximately 2,689 sq. kms, falling in six districts and to be developed in two phases.

No arrests have been made so far. However, the police have launched a probe into the incident after a complaint was made by the family.
