Vikrant Massey to Open 2 Musafir Cafes: Vikrant Massey is said to be turning Musafir Cafe into something you can visit. The actor is planning two real cafes that are inspired by the fictional place from the Netflix show. One is expected to come up in Himachal Pradesh, and the other is expected in Uttarakhand.
News reports say building has already started at both sites. Massey is doing this through his production company, Homemade Stories. The plan is to mix the cafe idea with spaces where artists can stay and work.
Musafir Cafe will be treated as the reference point. The new venues are reportedly meant to feel like copies of the cafe from the series, or at least close enough to be an on-screen extension in real life. Each place is expected to have about 20 rooms for artist residencies. Creators would be able to live there and focus on their work while surrounded by the hills.
At the moment, details like the exact spots, opening dates, and other day to day plans have not been shared by the makers.
Vikrant Massey’s Musafir Cafe Season 2: Latest Renewal Status, Cast and Story
Musafir Cafe is led by Vikrant Massey, Vedika Pinto, and Mahima Makwana. The show is drawn from Divya Prakash Dubey’s novel. It focuses on relationships and the choices people make. It also centers on the thought of starting again, away from the usual rush.
In the series, Massey plays Chander. He leaves for the hills and tries to build a fresh life around his goal of running a cafe.
Netflix released the series on July 24, 2026. The café is more than just a backdrop in the story. It becomes an important part of Chander’s journey, making the reported real-life cafés a natural extension of the show’s setting.
The cafe from the show was filmed in part at Jharipani Castle in Mussoorie. The building is a heritage spot, and many viewers seem curious about going there after seeing it on screen.
More cafe plans are now being discussed for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Reports say they aim to match the look and the mood of the fictional caf. They are not just trying to use the show’s brand.
Massey’s interest in the idea is not new. In an earlier interview, he said he wanted to start a café in Himachal Pradesh. He also mentioned a few areas he liked, including Dharamkot, Dharamshala, Chamba, and Kufri.
His link to Himachal is also personal. His wife, actor Sheetal Thakur has family roots there. The couple tied the knot in Himachal in 2022.
There is also talk about artist stay rooms. If those rooms are included, the cafes may feel more like working spaces than typical stops for tourists. The plan, as it is being described, is to let artists and creators stay, make things and meet others for shared work.
