Volvo EX90 Confirmed for India: Volvo Cars is now gearing up to expand its electric range in India with the EX90 basically the brand’s main all-electric SUV. The company has at least in an official way, confirmed that this luxury electric SUV will be coming to India, even if Volvo hasn’t said the exact launch date yet. This development was reported on July 21, 2026, so the news is fresh but still not fully detailed.

Volvo EX90 Confirmed for India

On the EX90 India front, Volvo Cars says the SUV is set to arrive but it still hasn’t mentioned any launch schedule or shared what the India line-up will look like variant by variant.

Some prior industry rumors suggested an India debut in Q3 2026 but those were more of an educated expectation rather than a formal pledge. Now with the newer confirmation, the EX90’s arrival looks nearer, however prospective buyers should still wait for Volvo Cars India’s own official announcement to know the exact date and the final spec details.

Volvo EX90 Expected Price in India

The EX90’s India price has not been announced. Current estimates place the electric SUV at around ₹1.5 crore (ex-showroom), although earlier reports had suggested a starting figure closer to ₹1 crore depending on the variant and import strategy. Therefore, the final India price could differ substantially from these estimates.

Volvo EX90 Battery and Range

Globally, the EX90 is offered with a large battery pack, with the top-spec version using a 111kWh battery. Depending on the powertrain and testing cycle, Volvo’s global specifications indicate a range of around 600km WLTP for certain versions.

Earlier Indian-market reports have listed battery capacities in the 92kWh to 106kWh range for different versions, while the exact configuration that will be offered in India remains unconfirmed.

Expected EX90 Specifications

  • Battery: Up to 111kWh globally
  • Claimed rang: 600km WLTP
  • Drivetrain: RWD/AWD depending on variant
  • Power: Up to around 510 bhp for the twin-motor version
  • Torque: Up to 910 Nm 0-100 km/h Around 4.7 seconds
  • Platform: SPA2
  • Expected Price: Around ₹1.5 crore

Performance

The EX90’s twin-motor configuration produces approximately 510 bhp and 910 Nm, according to specifications reported for the model. This version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in around 4.7 seconds.

Volvo also offers different powertrain configurations globally, including single-motor rear-wheel-drive and higher-performance all-wheel-drive versions. Which variants will be brought to India has not yet been confirmed.

Interior

The EX90 follows Volvo’s minimalist Scandinavian design philosophy and it brings a premium cabin with that big central touchscreen and connected tech and those advanced driver-assistance systems.

For the 2026 model, it has also gotten tech and safety upgrades, including an electrochromatic panoramic glass roof, which lets occupants dial the transparency up or down depending on light and mood.

800V Architecture and Fast Charging

The EX90 is built on Volvo’s newer electrical architecture, and some reports mention an 800V setup on the latest version. In simple terms, this should allow faster charging compared with many conventional EV platforms.

Still, charging specifications can vary by trim and market, so the exact India-spec fast-charging capability should really be confirmed by Volvo before the launch.

Competition

Once it arrives, the EX90 will move into India’s premium electric SUV segment alongside vehicles like:

  • BMW iX
  • Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV
  • Audi Q8 e-tron

Taken together, that large battery, the three-row SUV practicality, the advanced safety technology and the overall premium positioning could make the EX90 one of Volvo’s more important EV launches in India.
