Right-handed opening batsman, Wasim Jaffer turns forty today. Born in Bombay, Maharashtra on 16th February 1978, Jaffer from his youth days became a cricketing sensation.
Jaffer who is often compared to Mohammed Azharuddin for his batting style began his international career against South Africa in 2000, facing the prime bowling attack Jaffer could not do much in his first four innings. He struggled to keep his spot in the side as the search for Sehwag’s opening partners in tests continue.
In 2006, Jaffer scored a double century in Antigua versus West Indies, scoring 212 runs.
Though he had a short international stint of 31 Tests, Jaffer turned out to one of the all-time greatest Indian domestic cricketers
