Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene has proclaimed articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden and launched a scathing attack against him. Greene, speaking at a press conference on Thursday, stated, “It is with the utmost gravity that I announce my intention to introduce articles of impeachment today against the head of this America-at-last Executive Branch, who has been working since January 20, 2021, to systematically destroy this country: the President of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden.”

At a press conference concluding “impeachment week,” during which Greene moved to impeach Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, she announced her intent to introduce impeachment articles against Vice President Joe Biden over the border crisis, stating that “his administration has willfully refused to maintain operational control as required by law.” She also made a strong assertion that every administration official is corrupt and unsuitable to hold office.

She has accused Joe Biden of endangering national security by refusing to enforce the country’s immigration laws. She criticised Biden and suggested he be removed from office for failing to secure the border. Greene, while speaking at the press conference, cited several instances of alleged abuse of authority and power, control of government agencies, and unprecedented assaults on the residence of former President Donald Trump.

White House spokesman Ian Sams blasted the act as a “shameless sideshow political stunt” and defended Biden by stating, “The president is focused on what’s important to the American people, such as preventing the House Republicans’ default, which would crash the economy, and protecting investments that are creating American manufacturing jobs, not on silly political attacks.”

Greene has also filed articles of impeachment against Attorney General Merrick Garland, which cite a number of controversial scandals that occurred during Garland’s tenure.
