World Lion Day: The day of World Lion Day in 2023 is August 10. In an effort to prevent the extinction of the world’s wild lion population, it highlights conservation and environmentally friendly alternatives. For World Lion Day, the creeping extinction of the African lion is in the news.
In the past 25 years, the number of lions in Africa has decreased by 50%; in the last several decades, lions have disappeared from 12 countries, leaving only 8% of their former territory.
The majority of regions, wild population declines have been roughly 60% in just 20 years. West African populations are considered to be critically endangered. There are 20,000 lions in Africa’s forest.
