Xiaomi 18 Fold Launch September 7: Xiaomi is getting ready for one of its biggest launch events of the year. The spotlight will likely be on the Xiaomi 18 Fold at a September event in China.

The brand says the next foldable will come with the new 3nm Xring O3 chip. Reuters also adds that the device will use LPDDR6 memory made by CXMT in China.

More recent leaks point to September 7 as the event date. The start time is said to be 7pm in Beijing. Along with the Xiaomi 18 Fold, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is also expected to show up. Xiaomi electric vehicles may also be part of the lineup.

Xiaomi 18 Fold

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is said to bring Xiaomi back to the book-style foldable line. This would follow the older Mix Fold line.

It seems Xiaomi is not only aiming for a slimmer look. Instead, the plan is to use a wider folding shape. The goal is a screen that is more usable inside, especially for video, multitasking, and work tasks.

Some reports suggest an internal display around 7.6 inches. The cover screen is expected to look more like a normal phone screen. Xiaomi has not yet shared full retail specs or pricing.

Xring O3 Could Be the Biggest Highlight

The smartphone is confirmed to use Xiaomi’s Xring O3, the company’s latest in-house flagship mobile processor. Reuters reports that the chip is built on a 3-nanometre process and is designed to work with LPDDR6 memory.

CXMT has said its LPDDR6 memory will supply Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable. Reuters reported that the memory maker had begun mass production of the technology, marking a major step for China’s domestic memory-chip industry.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max Also Coming

Xiaomi has confirmed that the tablet will use the same Xring O3 platform, positioning it as a high-end productivity device rather than simply another large-screen Android tablet.

A recent Geekbench listing reportedly showed the Pad 9 Pro Max with 16GB of RAM and the Xring O3 processor. The listing also showed a 10-core CPU configuration, although benchmark results should not be treated as a substitute for real-world performance until the product is officially released.

Reports also point to a large display and 120W wired charging, but Xiaomi has not yet confirmed every specification.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Launch September 7: Xiaomi’s New EVs

Xiaomi’s September event is not expected to be limited to smartphones and tablets. Reports indicate that the company could also introduce new electric vehicles under its automotive business, including models identified as the N70 Pro, N70 Max and N90 Max.

TechNode similarly reports that three new extended-range SUVs are expected to appear at the September event.

The announcements point to Xiaomi’s wider plan. It is trying to grow a set of products that goes past phones, tablets, and smart home gear.

Xiaomi 18 Fold in India

For people in India, the main issue is simple. When will it be sold here? The event in September focuses on China. Xiaomi has not shared a date for India yet. It has also not shared India pricing for the 18 Fold. So any talk about a near launch in India should be taken with caution.

Xiaomi is already active in India. Because of that, a wider release later would not be shocking. Still, there is no confirmed schedule for an India launch right now.
