The Kerala Police have held Rehana Fathima, an activist, for hurting religious sentiments. She was booked after a complaint was filed against her by Radhakrishna Menon.

The activist was booked under Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code(Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs).

Earlier, Fathima had involved herself in a controversy after she tried to enter the Sabarimala shrine. On September 28, a Constitution bench of the Supreme Court had removed a ban which restricted women of a child-bearing age group to enter the shrine.
