After Madhya Pradesh, Congress led Chhattisgarh govt introduces weekly off for police

Raipur: In a big decision, Congress led Chhattisgarh government has provided the police jawans and employees much relief. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced a weekly off to the police jawans in the state, adding to it the DA of all the government employees has also been increased from 5 percent to 9 percent.

The weekly off for Chhattisgarh Police will start with effective April 1, 2019.

There was a long demand for policemen in the state that similar to the other workers, they should also get one day leave a week. So that they can spend some time with their families. The family members of the policemen also complained to them that they are unable to give time to wives and children because of their job. In such cases, sometimes the policemen used to undergo stress.

The decision comes three months after in another state with government led by the Congress, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister had announced a weekly off for the policemen.

On February 2019, The Union cabinet had approved a three per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees and pensioners.
