Andhra Pradesh: 20 injured after roof collapses during Muharram procession in Kurnool

In a tragic  incident, at least 20 people were left injured after a portion of a roof collapsed during the Muharram procession on Tuesday in Andhra Pradesh.

As per the reports, the incident took place at Bandameedi Tandrapadu village of Kurnool district on the intervening morning of Tuesday. People standing above and beneath the roof were injured severely. The wounded people were immediately rushed to Kurnool Government General hospital for treatment.

On learning about the incident, taluka police rushed to the spot to rescue.

Muharram is a sacred month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four sacred months of the year during which warfare is forbidden and is observed in many countries across the world.
