Bihar Inter-State Bus Service December 2026: An extensive expansion of inter-state bus connectivity between Bihar and various parts of northern and eastern India may become a reality from December 2026, as over 150 daily bus services have been decided to be provided between Bihar and different states in the regions. The proposed connectivity plan includes a link between Bihar and Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chandigarh and other areas in order to provide a travelling option in addition to overcrowded train travel.
As per a report dated October 15, the fares on the proposed buses may vary between ₹700 to ₹2,500, depending on the route and class of the bus. However, the final schedule, fare list and other related matters remain to be officially confirmed.
There could be many benefits in terms of increased connectivity between Bihar and various cities as a result of the proposed expansion, with these possible connections mentioned in different reports and proposals.
Please note that the exact schedules and daily departure times need to be confirmed after the arrangements are made by the concerned authorities.

As per the reports, the proposed fares would be ₹700 to ₹2,500, but it may be noted that these are just rough estimates and not the final ticket prices.
These are estimated fares only and final fares are subject to change according to the distance and bus service used.
One of the main reasons why road transport needs to be expanded in Bihar is the huge demand for travel across different states of India.
Many residents of Bihar study or work outside of their home state and visit during festival seasons. Travelling via train during peak travel seasons is not easy. In such cases, more inter-state buses will provide an alternative and make it easier to commute.
As per October 15, 2026, the complete schedule, the link to book and ticket cost for the mentioned extension in December have yet to be announced in the sources used.
Passengers must visit the official website of Bihar Transport Department for any notification or permit prior to planning their trip.
Just because there is a proposed route, it doesn’t mean that the tickets for that route have been made available yet. Travellers must wait until the official notice comes through.
