Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a massive development push worth over ₹5,900 crore in Siwan district, Bihar, on Friday.
A key highlight was the inauguration of the Vaishali–Deoria railway line, constructed at a cost exceeding ₹400 crore, with an additional new train service launched along this route.
Boosting connectivity, the Prime Minister introduced the Vande Bharat Express connecting Patliputra and Gorakhpur, accelerating intra-state travel via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah. Reinforcing ‘Make in India’, a cutting-edge locomotive for export emerged from the Marhowra plant, destined for the Republic of Guinea.
Modi also emphasized environmental stewardship by inaugurating six Sewage Treatment Plants under the Namami Gange project, with an investment exceeding ₹1,800 crore.
He laid foundation stones for additional water supply and sanitation projects worth ₹3,000 crore. The energy sector received a fillip with a new 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System to stabilize supply and reduce peak-hour costs.
