Bihar politics heats up with Upendra Kushwaha’s demand for new CM face

Union Minister of State for HRD, Upendra Kushwaha has demanded to change the Chief Minister face in Bihar for 2019 assembly elections. According to reports, he doesn’t want Nitish Kumar to continue to be the Chief Ministerial candidate of the state. Heating up the politics in Bihar, the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party chief Kushwaha suggests new faces should be given the opportunity.

He went on to say that the present CM Nitish Kumar has been on the Chief Ministerial position for the last 15 years and now others should be provided with an opportunity to learn. This statement of Upendra Kushwaha has further tensed the already estranged relations between NDA and RLSP.

“Any leader seeks an opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities. Nitish ji has demonstrated that in 15 years. I know him very closely. I believe he himself will announce that he will not be a contender in 2020,” he added.

The two parties do not share a very cordial relation ever since Upendra Kushwaha parted his ways from NDA to form his own party ‘Rashtriya Lok Samata Party’.
