Bizarre incidents from Bihar showing the pathetic state of education have been in spot light several times. Adding another to the raw is from a school of Bettiah where the admin celebrated birth anniversary of former President APJ Abdul Kalam instead of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on Education Day.

November 11, which marks the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, is observed as National Education Day every Year. In respect to his contribution in the field of education, educational institutes organise various functions.

However, to the nation’s embarrassment,  a school in Bihar confused the name of Maulana Abul Kalam with former President and taught students that November 11 is marked as the birth anniversary of  APJ Abdul Kalam.

As said in the reports, teachers during the morning assembly also informed that APJ Abdul Kalam became the first Education Minister of our country. He was the first Education Minister, a freedom fighter, an educationist and a writer.

The incident came to everybody’s attention when student on return to home, told their parents about the same. Parents reportedly complained about the same to school admin on which, teachers allegedly misbehaved with parents.
