Bihar Startup Funding Update: Bihar has made its startup screening faster. The state Industries Department finished checking and picking 1,228 startup bids in only 31 days. The work started on August 1. It ended after the Project Selection Committee held its session on August 31. That meeting is when the final picks were approved. The recent update says 74 startups were suggested for help. The amount mentioned is ₹3.48 crore under the Startup Bihar effort.
Officials said the teams did reviews in several steps. They used AI for the first check. Then the Startup Support Unit looked at the details. After that, domain experts assessed the proposals. Written tests were also held. Later, there were personal interactions. In the end, the committee reviewed everything again.

Finishing the full work in one month is a noticeable move toward a faster, fixed-time selection process.

This new list is part of the wider Startup Bihar push. The Startup Bihar portal shows 1,500+ funded startups. It also reports ₹75+ crore already paid out. There are more than 3,500 DPIIT-registered startups, along with 850+ events. It also mentions 46 startup cells and 22 incubation centres.
The portal says companies are working in many areas such as food, tech, health, education, finance, e-commerce, manufacturing, environment, and logistics.

Bihar is building its startup model around a wider support network. It backs founders from the first idea to later business growth.
Under the Startup Bihar effort, support is given in many ways. This includes seed funds, matching grants, incubation space, coaching, skill sessions, and help through government offices.
In 2016, the state brought in the Bihar Start-up Policy. Later, it cleared the Bihar Start-up Policy 2022. The aim was to cover more people and run the plan better.
The official portal states that the policy is meant to push new ideas. It also aims to create jobs and make Bihar a better place for startups and those who start them.
Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh said the full process was finished in 31 days. She called it a key win. She pointed to a goal of setting up a system that is clear, quick to act on and easier to reach.
Industries Department Secretary Kundan Kumar said the faster pace came from tech based checks. He also mentioned fixed timelines. Director Industries Mukul Kumar Gupta added that different groups worked together. He named the tech teams, the Startup Support Unit, field specialists and the review panels.
