The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday, May 17 suspended party media-in-charge Anil Saumitra over his controversial Facebook post in which he had called Mahatma Gandhi the father of Pakistan. Saumitra has been suspended from the primary party membership.
In his Facebook post, Saumitra had said that Gandhi is the father of Pakistan. He further added that crores of people were born in India like Gandhi, though some were useful and others useless.
Saumitra has been asked to reply within seven days, else he could face strict disciplinary action.
