In a major political development on Sunday, Janta Congress Chhattisgarh supremo Ajit Jogi has decided to contest the upcoming assembly elections from Marwahi. The constituency is the traditional bastion of Jogi family. Earlier there were reports that former Chhattisgarh CM will not contest the election.
Speaking to media, Amit Jogi told that, “He (Ajit Jogi) has always taken decisions based on what the people of Marwahi feel. And they, including myself, feel that he should contest from Marwahi”.
Earlier, Ajit Jogi had declared to fight against Chief Minister Raman Singh from Rajnandagaon seat, however after analyzing whole equations in the Singh’s constituency, Ajit Jogi took his name back, sources claimed.
“It is also clear that Ajit Jogi is only considering Marwahi and not Rajnandgaon against the Chief Minister. It shows how they are working towards the sole purpose of damaging the Congress”, Chhattisgarh Congress stated after the development.
It is expected that Janta Congress Chhattisgarh will make a formal announcement in coming days. Marwahi seat is a reserved assembly constituency for Scheduled Tribes and a fraction of Korba Lok Sabha constituency.
