Coronavirus Bihar updates: 108 Shramik Special trains ferrying over 1.77 lakh migrants will reach to Bihar from different states on Tuesday. 14 trains ferrying 23,100 migrants will arrive from Gujarat, 11 trains ferrying 18,150 migants will arrive from Delhi, 15 trains ferrying 24,750 migrants will arrive from Maharastra, 12 trains ferring 19,800 migrants will arrive from Punjab and 7 trains ferrying 11,550 migrants will arrive from UP.

Bihar Health Department confirmed 52 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday taking the tally to 2738. The death toll stands at 13. At least 749 people have recovered after getting infected with the coronavirus in the state. All 38 districts are infected by the virus. Capital city Patna has been declared as coronavirus hotspot zone.

Shramik trains are running across the country to help migrants reach their home states. As migrant workers are returning to Bihar from other states on Shramik Special trains, the coronavirus cases are gradually spiking up in the state. From last week, the maximum number of COVID-19 patients have been found among migrant workers who returned from different states.

Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar has asserted to provide Rs 4 lakh help to the people’s families who died due to COVID-19.

Railway has released a list of trains that will run from Bihar in June. The list includes Danapur-Bengaluru, Mumbai-Darbhanga, Delhi-Rajgir, Delhi-Rajendra Nagar, Anand Vihar-Motihari, Danapur-Sikandrabad, Tatanagar-Danapur, Ahemdabad-Darbhanga, Surat-Chappra, Patna-Mumbai, Saharsa-Delhi, Mumbai-Pataliputra, Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar, Raxaul-Anand Vihar, Amritsar-Jaynagar, Pune-Danapur, Ahemdabad-Patna, Ahemdabad-Muzaffarpur, Shalimar-Patna, Howrah-Patna, Patna-Ranchi trains.

The states across India registered over 6,500 new coronavirus cases for the fourth straight day. The total number of coronavirus cases in India surged to 145,380 Maharashtra witnessed a slight decline in daily COVID-19 count on Monday. Tamil Nadu saw reported over 800 in last 24 hours — the highest single-day spike so far in the state. India recorded 146 deaths due to coronavirus infection taking the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 4,167.

Migrants pelt stones at Chapra Railway Station

Migrant workers pelted stones at Chapra Railway Station and creates ruckus at the platfrom on Monday. As per the reports, the train stopped at the station for so long which resulted in migrants pelting stones. At least 2 poilce personnels were injured in the incident.

Bihar-bound train gets cancelled, migrants pelt stones at police in Mandi Gobindgarh

Outraged migrant labourers pelted stones at police personnel in Mandi Gobindgarh after a Bihar-bound train was cancelled on Monday morning. Migrants were provided temporary shelter at Khalsa Senior Secondary School in Mandi Gobindgarh. After learning about the train cancellation, more than a hundred migrants had gathered in the ground of the school. The migrants blocked the main Jalandhar-Panipat national highway and protested. Moreover, the migrants pelted stones at the police.

Migrant workers quarantined at Tekari Gaya celebrated Eid festival on Monday. Special arragements were done by the administration. Kheer, Sevaiyan, Briyani along with other delicious dishes were distributed among the migrants.

Bihar: Face masks embellish with Madhubani painting goes high on demand

Bihar is making reusable face masks adorned with Madhubani painting. The mask-making process is monitored by the District Magistrate of Sitamarhi. The masks are made by Superbottoms, a reusable diaper brand, are made with 100 percent cotton, and have a pocket where one can insert a non-woven fabric as a filler. Sitamarhi DM Abhilasha Kumari Sharma said, “The masks are being made by migrant workers and Aanganbadi didis. This mask manufacturing has provided jobs to many migrant workers and didis who were kicked out of their jobs amidst the pandemic. These workers are earning Rs 400-500 every day”.

142 people from Doha and Qatar returns to Bihar
