A man was detained on Sunday for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter over a period of three months, according to police sources. The victim disclosed the abuse to her mother, who subsequently reported it to the authorities.
Station House Officer (SHO) Dharamveer Singh stated that the father had been sexually assaulting his daughter and had threatened her to remain silent.
Based on the mother’s complaint, charges were filed under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. The accused has been apprehended and further investigations are ongoing.
