A newly married woman in Uttar Pradesh allegedly killed her husband after weeks of money-related fights, then staged his murder as suicide with help from her family, police said.

The public mystery began when a tragic Instagram post which used cryptic language appeared online after her death.

The accused, Durga Shankar Singerha, 58, an upper division clerk, and Mukesh Sen, a peon, allegedly lured the woman under the pretext of job opportunities at Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University.

According to police, the accused CEO, Jitesh Sisodia, had organised a party on his birthday last Saturday, in which the manager was also a guest.

Police have arrested three persons, including the victim’s father, in connection with the incident that occurred on Sunday evening.

The woman was found dead near a bridge construction site on the highway on November 13.

The accused, Himanshu, a resident of Hansi and a history-sheeter was arrested on Wednesday night after he fled the city, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (South) Ankit Chauhan said.

The accused have been identified as Rajender Kumar (43), a resident of R.K Puram, and Rajesh Kumar (36) from Burari.

The suspect, identified as 70-year-old Kallu Rajput, is believed to have lured the girl into his backyard, where the assault occurred.

The scammers, masquerading as law enforcement officials, coerced the woman into transferring Rs 6.60 lakh to them over a span of three days.
