Uttar Pradesh Government on Wednesday showed its thumbs up to one-of-its-kind political training institute to be set up soon in Ghaziabad.

The decision to establish a sprawling political training institute at a cost of Rs 198 crore was taken at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The project will be completed in the next two years. A committee has also been constituted to decide on the syllabus and faculty for this political training institute.

While the institute will be under the purview of the urban development department, the state government is looking to tie-up with an international institute so that its courses are internationally recognised.

The opposition, however, has raised questions over this decision of the Yogi government and has termed it as wastage of money.
