House of the Dragon Season 3: The dragons are coming back very soon. House of the Dragon Season 3 is set to begin on June 21, 2026, and viewers in India will be able to watch it from June 22 on JioHotstar. The new season will have eight episodes and will come out once a week. HBO has also already renewed the show for a fourth season, which is being treated as the final chapter.

The series is returning after a long wait. Season 2 left the story right on the edge of a huge war between the Blacks and the Greens. Now the fight is no longer coming later. As the article says, “The war is no longer a looming threat. It has arrived.”

What Season 3 will be about

Season 3 is expected to push the Targaryen civil war into full battle mode. Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and her side are ready to fight for the Iron Throne, while Aemond Targaryen is shaping up to be one of the most dangerous people in King’s Landing. The season is also expected to bring the Battle of the Gullet, which is one of the biggest events from George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood.

Earlier seasons spent a lot of time building the conflict. This new season looks like the point where all that waiting finally turns into open war. The story is expected to move faster, with bigger dragon fights and heavier losses for both sides. The whole tone is now less about setup and more about damage, revenge, and power.

Why People are calling it the Strongest Season yet

Early reviews are very positive. Critics say the show feels sharper, bigger, and more emotional this time. Some reviews even call it the strongest season so far. A big part of the praise has gone to the faster pace and the way the series now balances politics with action. One review also says the show feels closer to peak Game of Thrones than before.

The dragon scenes are also said to be much bigger now, with huge aerial action and the Battle of the Gullet being one of the main highlights.
