iQOO G1 Launched in China: iQOO have released its latest gaming controller, the G1, into China. The controller makes use of Hall effect joysticks, magnetic linear triggers, re-mappable shoulder buttons and a telescoping 211mm long body.

The controller will be sold for a price of 499 yuan in China, available from November 4, 2026. You’ll be able to receive a 100 yuan discount if you buy it with any qualifying iQOO smartphone or tablet, making the final price 399 yuan. So far, there is no announcement on when the controller will be made available in India.

iQOO G1 Gaming Controller Price and Availability

The iQOO G1 will cost 499 yuan (approx. US$74) in China. Customers purchasing the controller with an eligible iQOO phone or tablet can buy it for 399 yuan, or approximately US$59.

Depending on taxes, distribution and local pricing, it could be available for different prices in India. There is currently no confirmed price for India.

iQOO G1 Hall Effect Joysticks and Linear Triggers

One of the standout features of the controller is that it makes use of Hall effect technology.

This means instead of using physical contact to detect movement like traditional analogue sticks do, Hall effect sensors read the changes in magnetic fields. This can help reduce stick drift issues due to wear.

With a rating of 5 million cycles, the joysticks are rated to last a long time. The Hall effect linear triggers offer 256 levels of input, helping with more accurate control in racing games and other titles where trigger sensitivity is useful.

The controller also comes with micro switch ABXY buttons, a tactile D-Pad and two extra shoulder buttons, L4 and R4. These can be programmed with individual actions or button presses, which can help with more complicated controls.

211mm Telescoping

The G1 makes use of an adjustable 211mm double sided telescoping body. This will allow it to fit phones and small tablets that are compatible.

There are two types of magnetic grips included. One shorter version for more portability and one longer one to offer a more traditional console-feel. The controller has silicone grips to help keep the device tightly held onto during play.

The controller also weighs around 176.5 grams with the larger grips fitted. There are also different joystick tops that can be swapped around.

USB-C and 15W Pass Through Charging

This controller connects to your compatible device via USB-C. No Bluetooth is required, as it is a wired connection. This means there is no Bluetooth lag, but how responsive the controller is will depend on the whole device and software.

The controller doesn’t have an internal battery. Instead, it will take power from the phone/tablet. There is also a second USB-C port for 15W pass through charging. This will allow you to plug in your charger to keep your device charged during extended play sessions.

iQOO G1 Compatibility and Features

The controller has some impressive customisation features, but for now only works with certain iQOO devices. At launch, the controller will officially work with:

  • iQOO 16
  • iQOO Neo 12
  • iQOO Pad Ultra
  • iQOO Pad Pro 8.8 inch

These devices will need to be running OriginOS 7 or higher.

iQOO G1 vs Traditional Mobile Controllers

Overall, the main selling points of this controller are the Hall effect controls, extra programmable shoulder buttons, adjustable grips and tablet friendly telescoping.

Hall effect joysticks are becoming increasingly popular in mobile gaming accessories, as they can help reduce drift issues due to wear on the sensors. The linear triggers also offer finer control.

However, we’ll need to see how comfortable, high quality the buttons are, how well they work with games, how responsive they are and how durable they are. We’ll need independent testing to see how well it really performs.

Will iQOO G1 Gaming Controller be Available in India?

The biggest question for Indian gamers is whether it will be available. iQOO have announced it will be available in China, but there is no official release date or pricing for India.

You should also check if your device will be compatible. As some of the features are software related, there could be some limitations based on what devices are compatible.
