As the general elections are now less than 6 months away, the politics of changing parties is now taking a stronger turn with every passing second. In the latest, the JDU Jharkhand state president Jhaleshwar Mahto has made a switch to the Indian National Congress Party.
Reportedly, Bokoro leader Nirmal Singh played a crucial role in making sure that Jaleshwar makes the switch. Rahul Gandhi inducted Mahto in the party. RPN Singh, Rajesh Thakur were also present at the event.
Mahato who is considered a close aide of JDU President Nitish Kumar, has been for the last few days rebelling against the NDA.
Mahato, represented the Baghmara (Vidhan Sabha constituency) during the year 2000 to 2009.
The move by Jaleshwar Mahto is considered a big blow to Nitish Kumar’s JDU, who was already lacking their hold in Jharkhand.
Earlier, the JDU Jharkhand chief had been against Baghmara MLA Dhullu Mahto. Now Jaleshwar Mahto is in the fray to earn the ticket to contest Legislative Assembly seat of Baghmara constituency.
