Khajauli Assembly Constituency 2025: Khajauli Assembly constituency lies to the north of the state of Bihar in Madhubani district. This constituency consists of Jainagar and Basopatti community development blocks and a few gram panchayats, namely Nararh East, Mahua Ekdara, Datwar, Sarabe, Rasidpur, Betakakarghati, and Khajauli. It is a segment of the Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha constituency.
The electorate in Khajauli is mixed in which the Scheduled Caste (SC) population is the main part of it and that is why the constituency was reserved in the past. Agriculture is the main source of living, with paddy, maize, and pulses as the primary crops. On the other hand, the area is also confronted with problems like insufficient irrigation facilities, lack of good quality education, and poorly developed healthcare infrastructure.
Over the years, the political history in Khajauli has been quite the opposite. Sitaram Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won the seat in the 2015 Assembly elections. However, Arun Shankar Prasad of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was declared the winner in the 2020 elections as he defeated Sitaram Yadav by a margin of 22,689 votes, indicating that the BJP was gaining ground in that area.
2010: Arun Shankar Prasad (BJP) got 44.7% of the votes and thus was the winner.
2015: Sitaram Yadav (RJD) won the seat.
2020: Arun Shankar Prasad (BJP) got 44.98 % of the votes and was victorious over Sitaram Yadav (RJD) by 22,689 votes.
