Days after Janta Dal Secular’s (JDS) General Secretary Danish Ali played an instrumental role in negotiating the seat sharing deal with Congress ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on Saturday joined Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party.
Kunwar Danish Ali had also played a key role in bringing the two parties, Congress and JD (S) together. In the 2017 Karnataka Assembly, the two parties had form alliance in a hung Assembly. While the role of Ghulam Nabi Azad was known to have played a heavy part in bringing the two parties together, Kunwar Danish Ali remained the lesser known brain behind, until he was seen with Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy with Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
According to IANS report, Ali, who was considered as a top leader in former Prime Minister HD Devegowda party, is likely to contest from Amroha Lok Sabha in western Uttar Pradesh. The BSP which scored a nil in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls is contesting the general elections this time in the state in alliance with the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal.
