Know validity of NEET result 2020 cum score card in India and abroad

NEET Result 2020: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be announcing the NEET 2020 Results today, October 16. Candidates who have appeared for the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) exam can check their rank and scorecard online- ntaneet.nic.in.

NTA is likely to release the final answer key of NEET 2020 anytime soon at ntaneet.nic.in. Generally, NTA NEET final answer key releases a few hours prior to the announcement of NEET 2020 result.

NEET UG entrance exam was held first on September 13, 2020, and then again on October 14, 2020, for COVID-19 aspirants.

Earlier, the Medical Council of India (MCI) released the official notification related to the extension of NEET validity to three years to take in foreign colleges. It is due to the average admission process takes 7 to 12 months to get through in medical institutes abroad.

The notification had come into force on March 14, 2019. With an increase in the validity of score, MCI had also made NEET mandatory for pursuing MBBS medical courses abroad.

Furthermore, the validity of NEET scores to take admission in Indian colleges is one year i.e. for the current academic session only.

NEET Validity: Studying MBBS Abroad

According to the reports, each year over 10 lakh students apply for MBBS admission in medical colleges abroad. Out of the total, the candidates who apply for admission in medical colleges abroad around 10,000 students able to grab admission.

The admission process in some foreign medical university is time taking. The minimum time duration to complete all the formalities of the admission is 7-12 months.

That is why it is one of the main reasons that the duration of NEET validity for MBBS admission in abroad had been extended to 3 years.

Secondly, the next reason to make NEET mandatory is that the officials noticed that medical institutions or universities of foreign countries admit Indian students without proper or good assessment methods so in order to maintain a standard in the medical field the decision had been taken.

In addition, the fee structure of foreign medical universities is very affordable in comparison to medical colleges in India. Thus, if any candidates fail to get a seat in Government medical colleges of Indian then he/she tries for colleges abroad.

NEET Validity: Studying MBBS in India

The validity of NEET score to study in the Indian medical colleges is solely for the current academic session i.e for one year only. NEET is conducted annually in India and soon after the result declaration, candidates are offered admission into their preferable colleges. So the chances of facing any type of delay in the admission process are very less.

NEET Counselling and Seat Allotment for MBBS/ BDS seats would be done under 15% All India Quota.

The State level counselling for 85% seats would be organized by respective by the state authorities separately.

Candidates taking the NEET 2020 and clearing the cut off required of respective colleges can apply for admission in that college through counselling sessions.

Details about Valid NEET Score:

NEET Percentile Score is the minimum score that candidates must secure to qualify NEET 2020.

NEET Percentile score is calculated on the basis of candidate’s relative position in comparison to other rank holders.

NEET All India Rank is calculated based on the absolute score obtained by candidates in NEET.
