Madhya Pradesh Assembly Polls 2018: Full schedule and dates

The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the electoral exercise for Madhya Pradesh, where assembly, comprising of 230 members, ends on January 7, 2019.

Chief Election Commissioner, OP Rawat stated that “Voting in Madhya Pradesh will take place on November 28th, while counting of votes will take place on December 11. Notification will be issued on November 2″. The last date for candidates to file nomination will be November 9 and scrutiny of nomination will be on November 12.

He further stated that the Model Code of Conduct has been put in place in Madhya Pradesh with immediate effect.

There is a tough battle between the Congress and the ruling BJP. While BJP is looking to retain its power in Madhya Pradesh, Congress is looking to conclude their 15 years of exile in the central state.

BJP- 165 seats, Vote share- 44.88%

Congress- 58 seats, Vote share- 36.38%

BSP – 4 seats, Vote share- 6.43%
