Maoists in Chattisgarh’s Naxal- affected Bastar district have distributed pamphlets as a threat to actor Akshay Kumar and badminton ace Saina Nehwal, who had donated Rs 9 lakh and Rs 6 lakh each to the families of 25 CRPF jawans martyred in Sukma attack in April this year.
Kumar had recently met Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and expressed his desire to contribute to the security forces also. He wishes to develop a plan for a smartphone application so that anyone can donate money to the family of needy jawans or officers who were martyred.
According to a senior police officer in Bastar, these pamphlets were circulated during the week-long anniversary of the Naxal movement.
