Multiple complaints have been filed against acclaimed author Arundhati Roy in Chhattisgarh. According to reports, a total of 15 complaints have been filed against the Man Booker prize-winning author in different police stations of the state. However, none of these complaints have been converted into FIR.
In its complaints, the Chhattisgarh Civil Society alleged that Roy made extremely undesirable comments against PM Modi while giving an interview to German media house DW News.
Chhattisgarh civil society Convener Dr Kuldeep Solanki said that complaints have been filed in five police stations of Raipur, three of Durg, five of Bhilai, one of Bilaspur and Bemetara.
In a press statement, Solanki said the remarks made by Roy are a direct blow to the unity and brotherhood of the country and accused her of trying to incite riots in the country.
Solanki said that FIRs have also started in some police stations. Through this legal action, we want to send the message that no person can harm the image and integrity of the country for personal selfishness.
