Mumbai Ramadan Timing 2023: Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is one of the holiest. To commemorate the holy month, Muslims worldwide observe sawm (fasting, one of Islam’s five pillars). Therefore, Ramadan rituals are observed for 29 to 30 days, beginning with the first sighting of the crescent moon and ending with the second. The sighting of the moon is essential for determining the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan.

The Muslim community fasts from dawn until dusk. After the day has ended, they break their fast by eating a meal called Iftar with family or friends. It is believed that by abstaining from food and water throughout the day, one gains insight into the pain and suffering of others and draws closer to the supreme God. (Allah).
