New Korean Reality Show ‘Take a Hike!’: Netflix is still piling in money into Korean entertainment and next up is that reality series Take a Hike! It is an outdoors adventure thing scheduled to drop in August 2026. For now the platform hasent said the exact premiere day but the industry listings right now show a tentative release date of August 1, 2026.
One of the main reasons people are already buzzing about Take a Hike! is the fact that Na Young Seok, the acclaimed producer and director (Na PD) is involved. He’s often described as one of South Korea’s most influential variety show creators and it shows.
Na Young Seok has a reputation for making reality programs where travel, laughter and real life celebrity moments kinda overlap in a natural way. For Netflix, he previously worked on projects like NANA bnb with SEVENTEEN. Take a Hike! is produced by Park Hyun-yong, who has also contributed to several well known Korean variety shows.

Unlike conventional celebrity travel shows, Take a Hike! follows four celebrities who have little or no interest in hiking. The participants are challenged to complete a demanding midwinter trek across Korea’s snow-covered mountains, turning an unfamiliar outdoor activity into an entertaining test of resilience, teamwork and friendship.
Park Hyun-yong PD stated, “‘Misery loves company’—the rapid bonding of four strangers as they ascend and descend a snow mountain at -20 degrees Celsius in midwinter is the show’s key highlight,” adding, “We hope viewers look forward to seeing how these individuals, who once didn’t understand the appeal of hiking, come to appreciate and grow through the joys of K-hiking.”
According to Netflix’s official synopsis, the series explores how four “non-voluntary hikers” gradually adapt to the physical and emotional challenges of the journey, creating moments of humor, personal growth and unexpected bonding.

Netflix has confirmed that Take a Hike! will consist of 10 episodes. While episode lengths have not yet been announced, the series is expected to follow the storytelling style commonly seen in Korean travel and adventure variety shows, balancing comedy with emotional moments.
