Nissan Tekton 7-Seater SUV Spotted Testing in India: Expected Price, Features and Engine

Follow Newsd On

Nissan Tekton 7-Seater SUV: Nissan is planning to grow its SUV range in India. The plan includes a new three-row SUV. It is said to be based on the Tekton. It was seen during road tests in October 2026. The model is expected to bring a roomier cabin, a striking exterior, and turbo petrol choices.

Nissan has not shared full details yet. Still, recent spy photos give a hint of what is coming. The SUV is likely aimed at people who want a premium family vehicle. A seven-seat layout is the key point.

Nissan Tekton 7-Seater SUV Launch in India

Reports suggest the seven-seat Tekton model could reach India in 2027. Test runs on public roads point to steady progress. Even so, Nissan has not named a clear launch date.

Some outlets expect it early in 2027. Others mention the second quarter. Until Nissan makes an official call, the launch month is not certain.

Nissan Tekton 7-Seater SUV Expected Price

This new seven-seat SUV is expected to be pricier than the usual five-seat Tekton. The bigger body and extra row likely push the price up.

Estimates from the industry put the ex-showroom range around ₹18 lakh to ₹22 lakh. This is not a confirmed figure. The final price may move based on engine choice, trim level, and added features.

Exterior

New spy photos suggest the seven-seat Tekton will keep some of the styling from the five-seat model. It will also use a longer rear section to fit the extra row of seats.

From what we can see in the test car, the front end looks close to the current design. The daytime running lights use a C-like shape, and the headlamps follow a similar layout.

At the back, changes are likely. The tail lamps should look different from the five-seater. The bumper styling may be updated too. The rear side glass area also appears larger than before.

That extra length at the rear should make the three-row version easier to tell apart. Nissan may also swap in new wheel designs. The final look is still not clear at this stage.

The Tekton’s shape is said to draw ideas from Nissan’s larger Patrol SUV. That is one reason the vehicle looks more solid and bold. How much of that design will show up on the seven-seater should be clearer as the launch nears.

Interior Features

Nissan has not shared an official list of features for the seven-seat SUV yet. Still, the five-seat Tekton already includes items that may carry over to the three-row model.

Possible features could include a large infotainment screen. It may also have a digital driver display. A panoramic sunroof could be part of the package, along with power front seats that also offer ventilation. Automatic climate control is another item to watch for.

The SUV may also come with a 360-degree camera. It could include connected-car services. Some versions may add driver help systems such as ADAS.

These are based on what the current Tekton offers and on reports about the upcoming model. They are not a confirmed specification list.

Nissan Tekton 7-Seater Engine and Transmission Options

Nissan says the new SUV should use the same power setup as the five-seat Tekton. Still, the company has not named the final engines.

Right now, the Tekton comes with two turbo petrol choices:

  • The first option is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. In the five-seater, it makes 100 PS and 166 Nm. It comes with a six-speed manual gearbox.
  • The second option is a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. This one delivers 163 PS and 280 Nm. For this engine, buyers get a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic. The final pick depends on the variant.

Rivals

When it launches, the Nissan Tekton seven-seater is expected to go up against other three-row SUVs in India.

Possible rivals are:

  • Mahindra XUV 7XO
  • Tata Safari
  • Hyundai Alcazar
  • Kia Carens Clavis
