Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called an important cabinet meeting today, Tuesday, to discuss and approve several key proposals. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 4:30 PM in the Cabinet Hall at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. After a gap of two weeks, this meeting is expected to address multiple departmental issues.
The last cabinet meeting, held on August 21, saw the approval of 31 agenda items. Proposals from various departments, including the agriculture department, sports department, general administration, labor resources, and health department, were discussed and approved. Additionally, key proposals from the transport department, revenue and land reforms, science and technology, and finance departments were also greenlighted.
One notable decision was to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a state ceremony every year on August 16. Furthermore, a significant health initiative was approved under which girls aged 9 to 14 would receive the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine to prevent cervical cancer. This initiative was named the Chief Minister’s Girl Child Cancer Immunization Scheme.
The home department proposed creating 67 additional positions for jail and hospital management across various state prisons. Another key decision involved dividing Patna’s Sadar area into four distinct zones: Patna Sadar, Pataliputra, Patna City, and Didarganj. This proposal was also approved in the previous meeting.
In total, the August 21 meeting resulted in several important decisions that addressed crucial sectors. Today’s cabinet meeting is anticipated to bring more significant decisions related to agriculture, health, labor resources, and other departments. The government is likely to introduce new measures to further strengthen welfare schemes and state development efforts.
