Sonakshi Sinha CJP protest: Actor Sonakshi Sinha has received strong criticism on social media after openly supporting the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) student protest in Delhi. She shared posts about the protest and also spoke in support of activist Sonam Wangchuk.
Sonakshi showed her support as students and other protesters gathered at Jantar Mantar before the July 20 march towards Parliament. She later shared pictures from the protest and criticised the action taken against protesters.
After this, some people on social media questioned why she was speaking about the Delhi protest but had not shown the same support for student protests in Jharkhand. Protests in several parts of Jharkhand were also held in support of Sonam Wangchuk and students.

Shatrughan Sinha has now spoken in defence of his daughter. In an interview with ABP News, the veteran actor and politician claimed that much of the trolling against Sonakshi was planned and not simply the result of normal public anger.
He alleged that paid trolls connected with the BJP IT cell were behind the online campaign. He described the attacks as “manufactured”. According to his claim, people involved in such campaigns are given written material and then told what to post or say online.
Shatrughan also said Sonakshi had supported the Jharkhand students too. He praised his daughter for not allowing the criticism to affect her and for continuing to follow her own views. The allegation about the BJP IT cell comes from Shatrughan Sinha. The reports do not provide independent evidence proving that the BJP IT cell organised the trolling.

Sonakshi’s open support for student and social issues has also led to questions about whether she may one day enter politics. Her father has had a long political career, so the possibility has naturally attracted attention.
When asked about it Shatrughan said he could not say what his daughter would decide in the future. He did, however, speak warmly about Sonakshi and described her as a worthy daughter.
