Parasakthi Box Office Collection Day 2:The eagerly awaited political drama, Parasakthi, featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela, was still showing in theaters on Sunday (Day 2) despite the mixed box office trend. The film, which is directed by the talented Sudha Kongara, started its theatrical run with remarkable initial numbers on Saturday and was expected to attract large audiences on the second day.

Parasakthi Box Office Collection Day 2

Parasakthi’s promise of a strong weekend start after a modest opening day turned out contrary to the Day 2 figures that painted a very different picture than what the industry had been expecting. As per the early trade estimates of Sacnilk, the film’s Day 2 net collections in India were a meager ₹0.02 crore (₹2 lakh), which was a huge fall from the ₹11.5 crore weekend-opening figure of Saturday.

The decline of such magnitude is rare for a Sunday release, more so for a film that had the positive pre-release buzz and a holiday weekend to its advantage. Usually, these Day 2 collections are the result of good footfalls, word-of-mouth, and family viewings but Parasakthi did not seem to be benefiting from them.

Occupancy and Footfall Trends

As per the industry watchers, the second day of Parasakthi saw the lowest theater attendance with almost nonexistent presence in the major South Indian markets of Chennai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Madurai which are often the strongest Tamil cinema regions.

The situation in the market is curious, and the trade analysts are already taking part in the discussion, the majority of whom were counting on better Sunday growth due to the film’s historical and socio-political theme. The big difference between Saturday’s impressive start and Sunday’s almost flat numbers could be due to several reasons such as mixed audience reactions or the impact of other releases.

Weekend Total So Far

Parasakthi’s two-day India net total calculated with estimates from live tracking is around ₹11.52 crore taking into account both days. The opening is still good, but the combined effect of the smaller day 2 contribution has led to reducing the projections for the extended weekend haul.

What Analysts Are Watching Next?

The box office gurus are going to keep their eyes on the film’s third-day (Monday) performance very tightly, as it will provide them with a better understanding of the overall rise and fall of Parasakthi. The Monday numbers will be a criterion to differentiate between the actual audience interest and the opening weekend hype, as well as to see if the positive buzz can hold the revenue trend.
